Each month we host a talk - usually by a notable scientist or skeptic, but not always - in a relaxed and friendly manner. In a pub. The subjects of the talks will vary considerably but they will typically be about a common belief that either cannot be justified by the available evidence, or that can actually be demonstrated to be false by the available evidence.
The talks are followed by an informal Q&A / discussion and that is followed by more beer. Because we're in a pub.
We usually hold these talks on the fourth Monday of each month at 7.30pm at the Farm Road Sports & Social Club.
It doesn't matter to us what your prior beliefs are - or even if you're unsure what they are yourself - we welcome everyone and everyone's viewpoint. So come along for a relaxed fun evening. And beer - did we mention the beer?
Oh, and as you can see from this site there's other Skeptics in the Pubs around the UK, in fact there's loads around the world.
